Quick guide
Subtitles that are part of the picture
Burned-in subtitles, also called hardcoded or open subtitles, are drawn onto every frame. Nothing depends on the app or the viewer's settings, which is why short-form creators use them.
Choose the font, colours, size and position, check a short preview cut from your own video, then download the whole thing with the subtitles in place.
- Shows on every app and phone.
- Your style, your position.
- No watermark on the full video.
Common questions
Can viewers turn burned-in subtitles off?
No. That is the point of burning them in: they are part of the picture, so they show everywhere. For subtitles viewers can switch off, take an SRT file instead.
Can I burn in my own SRT file?
Not yet. The subtitles are made from the speech in your video, and you can correct every word before the full video is made.
Where will they show?
Everywhere the video plays: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, a website or a phone's gallery.
