Set TikTok captions where viewers can see them
TikTok stacks its own controls over your video in two places at once. The right-hand edge carries the profile, like, comment, bookmark and share buttons. The bottom-left carries your username, your description and the sound row. Anything burned in underneath those is read through them.
TikTok's own automatic captions also sit low on the screen. If you are burning your own in, put them somewhere else deliberately, rather than letting two sets of words compete for the same strip.
The caption position slider moves the whole block from top to bottom, so you can park it in the clear middle band. Word-by-word highlighting suits the pace people scroll at here: the eye is drawn to the word being said rather than asked to read a whole line.
